Richard Dean
Global Network Operations Ltd

Richard’s background includes ten years of telecommunications engineering work with British Telecommunications and Plessey. Subsequently, his decision to enter the field of sales and marketing resulted in a number of positions with major communications systems manufacturers. He formed his own company in 1986, to take advantage of the opportunities for selling used telecommunications equipment to the export market. Eighteen years on, he maintains a consultancy role in his company, CES Telecom Ltd, which continues to be one of the leading suppliers in the burgeoning telecommunications second-user market, and counts most of the major network providers among its customers.
Following the downturn experienced by many telecoms operators, Richard identified that a new business model for network operators was required, particularly regarding the careful control of network management and its operational costs. Focusing on the outsourcing model, Richard and his business partner, Chris Davison, formed Global Network Operations Ltd in April 2002, to provide operators with an outsourced Network Operations Centre. Its success has given the outsourcing model rapid proof-of-concept, reflected in the company’s expanding customer base.
